new location. In March 2012, the Riffel family also came as new missionaries to help in the work. Michael Riffel started studying Japanese and learning under Pastor Rich as the Assistant Pastor with the plan of one day taking over the work when Pastor Rich could no longer do it. This came much sooner than expected when Pastor Rich went home to be with the Lord suddenly in September of 2017. Pastor Riffel was voted as the New Pastor. God is continuing to bless Faith Baptist Church and we are seeing God steadily grow our membership and our faith. To God be the glory, great things He hath done!
Being called of God, Pastor Richard Rich and his wife Catherine came to Japan in 1973 as missionaries. God used them greatly to establish Grace Baptist Church in the city of Tama New Town in Tokyo. After a period of transition, they came to the Saku area in June of 2006 with a vision from the Lord of starting a church in the area, perhaps in the city of Komoro. God led them to get a home in Saku and on August 13th, 2006 they began holding services in their home. God blessed with some souls saved and baptized. Missionary Katie Folden helped in the church while going to language school. On May 10, 2010 the church moved to its
